When precision pays off

The stars aligned for the third of our five winning homes at this years Registered Master Builder House of the Year awards. Picking up silver in the NuLook New Home $700,000 - 1 million category, this stylish home was a standout with its strong architectural forms.

It was a great project to see through and the finished result is a stellar example of what can be done with a large floor plan and lots of creativity. The clients were very artistic with lots of ideas and flare which they used to design the outdoor space and landscaping. Their love of entertaining required lots of space which we created with a mono pitch roof and raking ceiling that seamlessly flowed across the entry, kitchen-dining and living area, making three rooms look like one.

The indoor connects beautifully with the outdoors to the patio area and we kept that sense of space by cutting the concrete slab to look like large tiles. Rodger Scott, General Manager who oversaw this project said, “This took a lot of time, but the precision in doing this paid off and it's these little details that really elevated this house.” When the judges do their evaluations, they grade all these elements and how they work together while ensuring a high standard of craftsmanship underpins everything.

It wasn't enough to just have lots of space, so it was important to allow plenty of natural light in with clerestory windows above the kitchen, which borrow light from one side of the house to be used for the other.  As builders while we are all about detail, we are practical by nature. We use traditional building methods and modern design to craft a home with the perfect balance of design and flow to perfectly suit our clients lifestyle.
