Intrepid adventures of the building kind

When you step inside, you’re greeted with warm, honey-coloured wood and classic Nordic tones that instantly make you feel at home. After returning back to New Zealand, keen adventurers Ellen and Adam wanted a house that reflected their intrepid spirit and international experiences.

They were used to starting journeys in an unknown direction and as clients this adventurous nature made working with them an absolute pleasure. The result is a modern contemporary home built with traditional craftsmanship, with a nod to European design. As young creatives, they’ve worked their unique sense of style into the interior. Artist Ellen’s work is featured on a curated art wall and their love for cultures is evident with Scandinavian simplicity mixed with Aztec detailing in the rug and couch cushions.
