House of the year: A cut above!

The House of the Year awards night is always an important one for the Maddren team, filled with joy and excitement. Each house selected for entry represents the hard work, dedication and skill that goes into building an exceptional home.

The credit doesn’t just go to the Maddren team, but also to all of our professional partners: architects, engineers, kitchen designers, carpenters, painters and plumbers to name just a few. There are thousands of crucial steps to building a house. Some say it takes a village to raise a child – in our case it takes our village to build each home.

Last year was an extraordinary award year for Maddren. We had four entries that all won gold, with two also being named as regional winners. On top of that, the home of Maddren owners Tony and Terena Anderson was selected in the national Top100 and was ultimately crowned national category winner. The awards night was presented online due to COVID-19 restrictions.  It was a strange new experience to participate in the virtual event but we were thrilled with the great results.

It has to be said though, that nothing quite compares to receiving the awards with clapping and cheering and pats on the back to acknowledge and celebrate each other’s hard work. So, with the event returning to normal this year, it was with much excitement and anticipation that we all headed along to the Cordis Hotel on 14 August for this year’s big event. 

This year Maddren had entered three categories, taking Gold and Best in the Region for our Milldale Show home, Gold and Best in the Region for Vinistra in the Volume/Group housing new homes $450–750k category and Silver for Manuel Road entered under New Homes $1–1.5M. It was a fantastic event and a thrilling night for us all, with every member of team Maddren and their spouses bursting into cheers when each of our entries won awards. So here’s to the Maddren team, the tradies and the partners. Here’s to every member of our village for your hard work, your ongoing support and for consistently reaching the high quality needed to meet the Maddren standard. We know how lucky we are to have you.
