Every home has a story

This 284m2, 6 bedroom home is big for a reason. When the client was a teenager, they were an overseas student and remain forever grateful to their host family. Now that they can afford to build their own family home, they now have the opportunity to host overseas students themselves and provide a home away from home.

Our clients brief was to create a maintenance free home with long lasting style. A brick and pine weatherboard solution achieved this, with the addition of a louvre screen for a hint modernism.

With the accommodation of overseas students being a requirement, we spent many hours discussing the location of guest bedrooms to create a flow that allowed interaction with students, while also providing privacy.

Then there was the wish list! Top of the list was a generous kitchen with walk in pantry, closely followed by a large walk in wardrobe, master bedroom with views and spacious children’s bedroom, who also put their hands up for a play area. Last but not least was the addition of a wood fire (the clients childhood dream), and of course a parking space for the future boat!
