After everything that the elements have thrown at us at Domain Cres over the last 6 months, we are eternally grateful to have not moved an inch, nothing come apart, nothing broken. 200kmh winds in 2018, Gabrielle’s fury, destruction and chaos all round, and all is very comfortable.

As an Architect I have had considerable experience with building contractors and building contracts.  The building process is not a finite thing and is full of challenges for both the construction company and the client.  During the course of our contract with Maddren Homes we had no cause for concern and we enjoyed the lead up to construction and the actual construction.  We have now well a truly settled into our new home and are enjoying it and our new surroundings.

We went through quite a thorough search for the best team to build our two duplex houses before settling on Maddren Homes.

What struck us, aside from their obvious design and build experience, was their accessibility and willingness to communication. Every step of the way we were able to be in touch with their team, the project manager and management if needed. They truly brought us along on the journey and made us feel part of the team – not just the end customer.

Ours was not an easy build over COVID-19 with market conditions being pretty tough, however, we were always engaged by Maddren and kept up to date with progress. They were very flexible when it came to design changes as we saw the build unfold, allowing us to make changes that made sense. The quality of the finished product is really high and we are completely satisfied with our choice to go with Maddren.

We had a very pleasant building journey with Maddren. They were so easy to deal with from sales to construction.

The great thing about the Maddren Design and Build process is that we, as clients, were closely involved in making every decision. We also had the opportunity to meet with various trades to discuss the build at different stages. For example, when the frame was up we were invited on a walk through the house with the window manufacturer, Vantage, where they discussed with us every window layout, size, ways of opening and air flow, and gave suggestions to make sure everything would work for our space. We also meet the concrete people on the day of laying the concrete, to confirm we were happy with the proposed plan. They gave us some good suggestions and we ended up making a few changes, so we are grateful we had that discussion.

We have friends building with another company and they don’t have the privilege of getting involved with the decision making.  Lucky we chose Maddren.

Over a year on, we are still really happy with the home and very happy. We still talk about building another house all the time so maybe we will catch up again soon, but this house we think is hard to beat.

We were looking for a building company to build our new house in Milldale. We dealt with four companies in the process and we chose Maddren Homes in the end even the build would be a bit more expensive than the other companies. We were impressed with the quality of the materials used and the quality of the build of their show homes.

Stuart helped us to choose the right house plan for our needs and he was very patient with us with all our changes and upgrades to the plan.

The process was stress free from the signing of the contract, to the colour consultation and to the actual build.  The communication was very good and they were very accommodating with all our changes to the initial plan.

We were lucky to work with Taylor for the build part of the process. He answered all our questions quickly and he guided us throughout the build process with all the choices we had to make when we met with the trades people.

We were very happy that we had our house build within our budget and we didn’t have to pay extra at the end of the build as we heard many stories before we started this process.

At the end of the build, we moved into the house and we had a glass of our traditional drink with Taylor to celebrate the move.

As I write this we already lived in the new house for few months and the quality of the build and of the finishes still impress us and our guests.

If we were ever to build again, we would not hesitate to contact the Maddren Homes team and would highly recommend them to anyone.
